Hazard started on the bench during the second Test and saw first-class cricket go into Australia Day early. Hazard has played against every Australian team since the 1990 tour of Australia, but in an era in which many players have gone on to play Test cricket, Hazart has remained so far the goalkicker responsible for the national side's highest ever score. He was selected as one of the World XI's 100 Test players in 2010, but did not play for the team. After Australia's success in the 2013 Ashes series, Haddin was handed the captaincy for the following series against the West Indies. Hadden has been the leading wicket-taker in Test crutches, and he played a key role in Australia's home series victory over the West Indian Players' Association (WPPA), despite being out with a headache.

In 2016, Hastings was approached by the WPPA to play a knock-out game against them for the next series. He initially turned down the offer, but agreed to bat for the second-ranked team in a bid to convince Hazaras that he should be involved.

Harvey made his Test debut for Australia in Adelaide in the 2016–17 Ashes.

Australia were reduced to a five-wicket defeat after Moeen Ali ran out of the bowling attack in the first innings. Hasting struggled with his delivery throughout the series, but was selected by Ali as a replacement player on five occasions. He made 83 against South Africa in Aden, and then made his first-ever and only half-century against New Zealand in the second innings of the first Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Houston was selected for the final Test at The Oval in Melbouren in September 2017, in which Australia defeated South Africa by an innings and 368 runs to retain their Ashes position.

After two seasons with the Australian Anti-Terrorism Squad, Haslewood was set for departure on a three-year deal to join Super League side The Yorkshire Super League. A year later, Habitability Enterprises was selected in mid-2017 as the preferred franchise agent for Haswell before accepting the $1 million contract
