Level partner of the vocalist said that the band would be pushing for a release in the fall of 2012.
In 2012, Blue gave a large benefit concert to re-ignite the Lightning Rising tour where they played their first headlining set since 2007. The concert took place in Seattle, Washington, at the Twin Garden Ballroom. On April 4, 2013, the band played at the AFI Music Awards where they gave a ceremonial standing ovation.
The band supported Seal on their North American tour in April and May 2013.
In December 2013, Blue released their first new song since 2005, "Delusion", on iTunes.
On January 7, 2014, Blue announced the split of the band on Twitter with Justin Benedict moving over to his solo project.
It was announced on April 20 that the split was finalized and the band will remain inactive until the end of May.
